Not only is cross-country skiing one of the healthiest winter sports of all, it also gives nature lovers the opportunity to train and savour the spectacular landscapes of the Dolomites at the same time. The San Cassiano Armentarola and Corvara Nordic ski centres offer 35 km of tracks that are suitable for both skating and classic style.

Snowshoe hiking

Unlike skiing, snowshoe hiking does not require any particular training, which makes it the perfect winter activity even for non-athletes wishing to experience close contact with nature. There are a number of different snowshoe trails in different levels of difficulty here in Alta Badia, so that anyone can enjoy the pleasure of trudging through white, glistening expanses.

Get back to the original experience with off-piste skiing and enjoy a thrilling winter holiday in the Dolomites! The most picturesque freeride routes of Alta Badia include the La Val Mezdì and the descent from the Passo Valparola pass to Armentarola.
